I thoroughly enjoyed “the hanging tree” and could not put it down. However, I have to say the ending of the book ruined it for me. It left you not knowing what happened between Butch & Dr. Maddox, not knowing if Sebastian was going to be caught, and not really hearing the full story of what happened with Maddox and her friend Cassie at the tree. I was really disappointed and think there should’ve been more closure with these parts of the story. I don’t enjoy movies or books that leave you hanging unless they’re going to follow up with a sequel which in this case, most likely not. Again, great read but awful, abrupt, ending.
Hi Ashley,
I’m so glad you enjoyed The Hanging Tree…minus the ending. I wanted to leave it a bit open for interpretation, but I am a sucker for a happy ending so you can probably guess my take on what happened with Butch and Evie. Hopefully you’ll check out the other books in the series as well! Thanks again for taking the time to leave a comment.
